Volunteer Fundraisers
We are looking for volunteer fundraisers to help out at our events to help raise necessary funds for the dogs in our care. We are especially busy over the summer with events such as various carnivals around the Bournemouth area, Dorset Dogs Festival and many family fun days. All events tend to be surrounding the Bournemouth area and often take place on a Saturday or Sunday.
Volunteers choose a time slot and tend to help out for a couple of hours on a shift type rota.
The rescue will inform you of upcoming events and you can then choose your preferred hours to help out if you are available on that day.
Before volunteering, you must submit a volunteer application form. We will then meet up for an informal chat so that we can meet you and give you an overview of the rescue. Many customers ask about the rescue at events so it is important that you are knowledgeable.

Benefits of Volunteering
Learn or develop a new skill
For example, learn how to carry out home checks and use your initiative to come to sensible decisions about whether someone is eligible and suitable to rehome a dog. Or maybe you could learn about the plight of the Staffordshire bull terrier and show the public how loving this breed really is!
Be part of your community
Volunteering is ultimately about helping others and having an impact on people’s wellbeing. Not only do we rescue dogs, but we advise and help people in despair who need us to rehome their dog as a result of unforeseen circumstances.
Motivation and sense of achievement
Fundamentally, volunteering is about giving your time, energy and skills freely. Unlike many things in life there is choice involved in volunteering. As a volunteer you have made a decision to help on your own accord, free from pressure to act from others. Volunteers predominantly express a sense of achievement and motivation, and this is ultimately generated from your desire and enthusiasm to help.
Boost your career options
Volunteering is a great thing to put on your CV, employers love to see this!
New interests and hobbies
Volunteering can give that escape to everyday routine and create a balance in our lives. Finding new interests and hobbies through volunteering can be fun, relaxing and energising.
Make new friends
We have a lovely team of volunteers. Join us and make new friends with similar interests today!
We also host a volunteer meeting once a month, for drinks and nibbles and to discuss what has happened in the past month within the rescue and our plans for the next month!
