Volunteering for Staffie and Stray Rescue
Volunteering for Staffie and Stray Rescue means that you are playing an active part in saving dogs lives and helping them to find their forever homes.
You will never be alone – we like to do everything in minimum of 2’s! As a new volunteer you will be shown how to participate in any of the volunteering opportunities that you wish to.
Everyone can participate in one way or another. We just ask that you are willing to help in any way that you wish, support other volunteers and enjoy yourself!

Shop Volunteer
We have shops in Kinson & Wimborne
1516 Wimborne Road, Kinson, BH11 9AE – Kinson is a smaller store with a super friendly vibe, we are the flagship store and the hub of the community!
19 Eastbrook Row, Wimborne, BH21 1HN – We are a larger store based in the heart of wimborne, hosting a rustic, boutique feel in store!
Are you an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about animal welfare? If so, why not join the Staffie team! We have a variety of roles available in the shop, from serving customers to sorting and arranging items to sell. We don’t expect the same hours or amount of help every week, we are guided by your availability, even if you can only help for an hour or two, we appreciate your support!
Examples of what you will be going in store:
- Greeting and serving customers
- Putting items through the till
- Keeping the stores tidy
- Changing displays around and keeping stock new and exciting for customers
- Sorting through donations
- Pricing donations
- General housekeeping such as hoovering, dusting etc

Volunteer Leaflet Droppers
As a rescue it is important that we get our name out there and spread the word of the work that we do!
We are looking for volunteers to give up a small amount of time to drop off some leaflets in their local area.
Collection of leaflets from our charity shop: 1516 Wimborne Road, Kinson, BH11 9AE.
NO APPLICATION FORM REQUIRED.
Volunteer Car Boots
We are looking for some volunteers to pick up items from us and sell them at a car boot that is local and convenient to then.
The rescue will pay for your entrance fee.
We often get lots of donations and not enough space to keep them. We would love for some people to help reduce high stock levels and raise necessary funds for the dogs.

For example, learn how to carry out home checks and use your initiative to come to sensible decisions about whether someone is eligible and suitable to rehome a dog. Or maybe you could learn about the plight of the Staffordshire bull terrier and show the public how loving this breed really is!
