My Name Is… Vinnie
I Am… 11 Years Old
I Am… A Male Staffie Cross
Can I be rehomed with other dogs? No
Can I be rehomed with cats? No
Can I be rehomed with children? Adult Only
I am looking for… A forever home
Vinnie’s story is such a sad one. After it was noticed that his owner hadn’t made an appearance in the community, a friend went to the house to find that the owner had very sadly passed away 3 days prior. Vinnie was found laid loyal next to his owner, alone and starving.
Vinnie has only ever known being with his one owner his whole life. He is a nervous boy since his life has been turned upsidedown. He has never lived with children or other animals before.
He is a shy and anxious boy after everything that he has been through. He would benefit from a quiet household and ideally where there are not too many people coming and going. Vinnie tends to gravitate towards people who are calm which helps him not to panic. At the moment he is very sad and withdrawn after the trauma and also having been placed in two temproary homes since he was found. We are desperatley looking for someone who can offer Vinnie a happy ever after in his twilight years, he deserves so much happiness. He is very loving and affectionate once he gets to know you! He will just need some time. He doesn’t like it when people go straight in to make a fuss, he will like to get to know people in his own time. He does shake and is withdrawn to begin with but does seem to be more comfortable in a short period of time. We have found that Vinnie is more comfortable with men.
Once comfortable, Vinnie loves cuddling up to his favourite people and loves to snooze!
Vinnie is fully house trained and may benefit from some additional basic training going forward.
Vinnie is looking for a home where someone is around most of the time, he does have seperation anxiety. We understand that he was always with his previous owner.
He is currently used to sleeping on his own bed but next to the temporary foster homes bed as he feels most safe here.
Vinnie’s favourite treats are Rancho’s dried chickn fillets (purchased from Wilkinson’s). Unfortuentely he is not eating too well at the moment as a result due to his grieving, but we know that this will improve with some time and lots of love!
He has arthritis and is currentyly on a daily dose of Metacam. He will be visiting the vets on arrival to address this and see how it can be managed going forward.
MY TEMPERAMENT WITH OTHER DOGS
Vinnie doesn’t appear to have been socialised with other dogs so we will continue assessment’s when he arrives. He does bark at other animals but mostly seems interested rather than reactive.
On lead, Vinnie doesn’t pull at all.

Help us find Vinnie a home!
Do you have a home for Vinnie?
We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.
We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.
We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.
If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:
Please note: We only rehome within a 2 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
