Tara Needs a Home

About Tara

Sometimes, Staffie and Stray Rescue offer to help dogs from overseas because we feel that they have better chances of finding a forever home here in the UK. In Spain, Staffordshire bull terriers must be muzzled in public, regardless of temperament.

My Name Is… Tara

I Am… Approximately 7 years old

I Am From… Spain

Arrival Date… 22nd October

Can I be rehomed with other dogs? No

Can I be rehomed with cats? No

Can I be rehomed with children? Over 12 Years

I am looking for… A foster or forever home

Tara currently resides with a rescue in Spain. After being found as a stray at the age of just one year old, Tara has been in kennels for a long time. She spent a significant amount of time in a foster home but was sadly returned after not getting on with the resident dog. Because of this history, Tara will be looking for a pet free home with SSR.

Tara absolutely loves being with people and getting lots of fuss and attention.

She has previously lived with children in a foster home, however we are looking for a home where children are over 12 years for assessments to continue prior to rehoming. As she has been in kennels so long, we are not sure how she will respond being back in a home environment.

Tara is a very sweet, comical and loving girl!

Tara is sociable with other dogs. Assessments are continuing.

Pending assessments, I am looking for:

  • A foster or forever home
  • A home where children are over 12 years
  • A pet free home
  • A patient home who can help me adjust to my new home and country.

Help us find Tara a home!

Do you have a home for Tara?

We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.

We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.

We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.

If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:

Please note: We only rehome within a 2 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
