My Name Is… Rufus
I am… A Bulldog x Staffie
I am… 3 Years old – DOB 16th October 2017
Can I be rehomed with other dogs? No
Can I be rehomed with cats? No
Can I be rehomed with children? Rufus has not lived with children before, we are looking for younger people in the home to be aged 16+.
I am looking for… A foster or forever home
Poor Rufus has been in a few homes during his life. In his home before last, Rufus was locked in a cupboard in the dark for most of his life. Understandably, Rufus has been strongly affected by this and doesn’t like to be left alone for to long as he panics. The home who saved him from his awful past has managed to build up his confidence to being left for 1-2 hours maximum, but a TV or radio must be left on to comfort him.
Rufus loves to be around people, he is very affectionate and trusting considering his traumatic past. He is very gentle taking treats.
He can get a little over excited at times.
MY TEMPERAMENT WITH OTHER DOGS
We are currently assessing Rufus further, however Rufus can be strong to pull towards some dogs when he see’s them but can also ignore them and walk past politely. Rufus cannot be let off lead unless it is in a secure area where no other dogs are around. His recall is OK. Rufus has been known to have some dog friends when out and about on walks but this will be assessed further in a foster home.
