Rambo Needs a Home

About Rambo

My Name is… Rambo

I am… Approximately 6 years old

I come from… Italy

I am… A large Labrador

Can I be rehomed with dogs? No

Can I be rehomed with cats?  No

Can I be rehomed with children? Over 16 years

I am looking for… A foster or forever home (Female only)

Rambo has arrived in the UK from Italy. He was rescued from terrible conditions and has been cared for in rescue for many years but has sadly always been overlooked. We are hoping to change this!

Rambo has had Leishmania in the past but this has been controlled for a few years now by taking 2 tablets a day. He is on medication for life and will require blood tests yearly, which SSR will cover the costs of.

Rambo is a large Labrador. We think he is around 6 years of age and is so deserving of a loving forever home, He’s a lovely boy.

Rambo was originally found in Italy chained to a small hut, he has come to the UK where we want to find him the home he deserves and craves. We are asking for a pet free home with older children for him he has not had the best few years and he is very nervous of people and the human touch.

Rambo has come on leaps and bounds in his current foster home, especially seeing as in the 6 years of his life he has never been in a home! however Rambo would be suited to a female household as he does appear to not be able to bond with men having been beaten in the past.

Staffie and Stray rescue don’t want to give up on on finding Rambo that perfect forever home. He needs a calm, quiet home with people who are patient and will give him the space he needs. When he trusts you he will allow you to stroke his head although he is still very unsure about human touch.

Rambo absolutely loves his walks and playing in the garden. When the sun is out he enjoys a good sunbathe! Even though Rambo has spent most of his life outside he is fully house trained and is happy to be left for a period of time on his own in the home.

Can you give this boy the home and love he deserves?

Rambo is OK with other dogs when out and about. He is a strong dog on lead, so the forever home must consider this when applying.

Help us find Rambo a home!

Do you have a home for Rambo?

We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.

We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.

We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.

If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:

Please note: We only rehome within a 2 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
