* From time to time, SSR help an rescue over in Italy as we feel that the dogs will have a better chance of finding a home over here in the UK. Princess is one of the dogs that we are helping
Poor Princess, her story is particularly sad. She was found straying in a small mountain village in Calabria, Southern Italy. She was emaciated and appeared to have been abused as she was covered in sores and bruises. Only one rescue in Italy offered her shelter, the local people wanted her to be euthanised. The locals appeared to abuse her when she begged for food or water.
Upon being taken in and to the vets, she was diagnosed with low level Leishmania which is under control. There are no physical signs of this illness now. She loves People and craves affection but is unpredictable with certain dogs.
Since being taken into rescue Princess looks like a different dog, her muscle tone and coat look good and she’s a good weight. All she needs now is some special someone to give her a chance.
Please contact the rescue if you are interested in adopting Princess.
Home checks, Vet checks and Adoption fees apply.
