Poppi Needs a Home

About Poppi

My Name Is… Poppi

I Am… 5 Months – DOB 16/05/2021

I Am… Mastiff x German Shepherd x Labrador

Can I be rehomed with other dogs? Yes

Can I be rehomed with cats? Possibly, with a slow introduction

Can I be rehomed with children? Over 10 Years

I am looking for… A forever home

MY HISTORY

Due to unforeseen circumstances in the home, Poppi is looking for a new home through SSR.

ABOUT POPPI

Poppi is  looking for a family who are around most of the time, as she has a little separation anxiety (something we see a lot with Covid puppies) she needs reassurance and comfort that you are coming back.

She can be a little nervous at first when meeting new people, but soon warms up and will want to be your best friend!

Poppi needs humans that are willing to give her the time to settle and provide her with lots of training and exercise. She has had little training prior to arriving with us, so will need someone who willing to teach and support her.

Poppi likes to sleep with her humans, and will bark if shut away from them. So much so as she likes for you to stay in the room with her when she is eating so she knows you are close.

Poppi is a very loving cuddly dog, it is like having a second shadow when Poppi is around!

Poppi is still growing and is going to be a larger dog. She walks well on the lead and is responsive to training and food oriented which aids training.

Poppi is a very playful girl she is happy paying on her own with toys but does love a game of ball, followed by a good cuddle on the sofa.

MY TEMPERAMENT WITH OTHER DOGS

Poppi is sociable with other dogs and could live with a tolerant male. She is a very large and bouncy girl who wants to play all the time. Although she can be rehomed with other dogs, we have found that she is a lot more responsive to training and commands on a one-to-one basis with her humans.

Do you have a home for Poppi?

We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.

We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.

We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.

If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:

Please note: We only rehome within a 2 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
