Nala Needs a Home

About Nala

My Name Is… Nala

I Am…  9 Months Old

Can I be rehomed with other dogs? No

Can I be rehomed with cats? No

Can I be rehomed with children? 16 and over

I am looking for… A foster or forever home

Nala has been a well loved dog but due to unforeseen circumstances, she is looking for a new home through SSR.

Nala is a typical young pup who is very bouncy and excitable, especially upon meeting people. She will jump up and nip at sleeves for attention, but this is not to be mistaken for malicious behaviour. Her overly excited behaviour will be too much for younger children so she is looking for a home with older children.

She is around 30kg.

She knows basic command such as sit and paw, but will require more training on the lead and out on walks. She is also house trained but with the occasional accident during the night. She will go to the door and ask to me let out when she needs the toilet. Nala will need to learn boundaries in her new home through the continuation of training.

Nala travels OK in the car.

Outside the home, she is quite a nervous girl of her surroundings and can be reactive towards bikes, skateboards, scooters etc. She is muzzle trained which may be helpful whilst training is being carried out to build Nala’s confidence. Her ideal foster/forever home would be able to continue with this confidence building going forward.

When out on walks, Nala can get over-excited and will try to run on the lead! She will be looking for a physically fit family who can handle her on lead.

Nala can be left for short, reasonable periods of time with no issues. She loves her toys, especially teddy bears!

She is not crate trained.

Nala is a very loving and cuddly girl who enjoys lots of fuss and attention.

Assessments are being carried out but Nala is OK with other dogs. She needs continued training out on walks due to her anxieties and will be be able to be let off lead for the foreseeable future unless in a private and secure area. Possible further muzzle training may be required during training.

Nala does have a high prey drive towards other animals such as cats and smaller animals.

  • A pet free home
  • A home with older children
  • A home who can continue with my training and work through my anxieties

Help us find Nala a home!

Do you have a home for Nala?

We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.

We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.

We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.

If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:

Please note: We only rehome within a 2 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
