Max Needs a Home

About Max

Hi, I’m Max! I am looking for a very special home with a confident dog owner!

My Name Is… Max

I am…  3 Years Old – DOB 3rd December 2017

I am… A Staffie x Border Collie

I am… Deaf

Can I be rehomed with dogs? No

Can I be rehomed with cats? No

Can I be rehomed with children? Aged 16+

I am looking for… A foster or forever home

Max has come from a well loved from but due to unforeseen circumstances he is looking for a new home.

Max is a young Collie x Staffie who has more Collie traits than Staffie. He would benefit from a Collie experienced owner who is confident in teaching him boundaries in the home.  He loves to play all the time and will require extra training in being shown when not to play and encourage calmer/quieter times.

Max is a high energy dog – From the moment you wake up he is SO excited to see you and looks forward to breakfast time and play. He still play bites, he is not malicious or aggressive at all he just gets super excited! New owners must be able to cope with this and support Max but setting boundaries.

Max had fly snapping syndrome and this is managed through medication. This does not affect Max’s day to day life though and shouldn’t put prosective adopter off!

He is looking for a home who can provide him with lots of walks. He will need a good long walk in the mornings where he can also play catch with his ball, after this he enjoys a snooze on the sofa. Its an absolute must that prospective new homes can provide him with the exercise that Max needs. He walks very well on the lead.

Being deaf certainly isn’t a limitation for Max. He can be guided and shown the way with hand signals and taps. Max does bark a bit but most of the time this is because he is trying to tell you something. Once new owners understand him, it will be a lot easier to manage.

On sunny days, Max loves nothing more than sunbathing. His favourite game is fetch. He will find any balls in the home that are hidden away very easily.

Max would like a home where someone is around most of the time to work on being left for short periods. He travels very well in the car and enjoys snoozing on the journey.

Max  is not sociable with other dogs. He walks beautifully on lead and will walk politely past other dogs.

Because he is deaf, Max cannot be near any roads off lead.

I am looking for:

  • An adult only home, or with children 16+
  • A home where someone is around most of the time
  • A home who can provide me with lots of exercise
  • A home who has the patience to learn to understand me
  • A pet free home

Help us find Max a home!

Do you have a home for Max?

We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.

We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.

We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.

If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:

Please note: We only rehome within a 2 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
