Lucy’s Story
Lucy was found at 3 months old as a stray in Italy. When she was found it was discovered that she has an old spinal injury, it is speculated that she was possibly run over by a car. She now walks with a wheelchair.
We needed an extra special home for this girl and to be honest we were up against it, she has such complex needs it really would be a task for anyone to take on.
Step forward Kat from Poochadise who met Lucy’s challenges head on with proven commitment and determination.
Kat spent a lot of time with Lucy prior to rehoming, learning all of her care needs, whilst of course also falling totally in love with her.
We could not wish for a better home for Lucy and we are absolutely delighted to see her get her happy ever after!
Our promise was always to fully support Lucy through her life with any challenges she may face and as she grows her prognosis will be evaluated. With the progress she has made through her physio sessions we will now be exploring other options from specialist vet referrals.
We will continue to share with you her updates and please do follow her adventures on Poochadise’s own page.
Our heartfelt thanks has to go to Andy and Deb who stepped in as an emergency to foster Lucy, it was a huge undertaking and a real task to expect most people both physically but also emotionally to take on. There have been many tears, from all of us; from sadness to frustration to pure joy.
Andy and Deb you were remarkable, you took such wonderful care of Lucy and the time you dedicated to her we are truly indebted to you.
From physio routines several times a day to weekly hydrotherapy sessions, to dressing the awful sores she had when she first arrived to nappy changes – We thank you so much for loving her.
We have had such an awesome support network for Lucy, including Poppy at FlexiPets and the team at Pawseidon Hydrotherapy and to Winston’s wheels for her doggy wheelchair, you are all truly amazing, thank you!
Of course the care continues, Kat has big plans for Lucy and we will be there every step of the way!
