Lilly Needs a Home

About Lilly

Lilly isn’t with Staffie and Stray Rescue, she is with Waggy Tails Rescue. We are helping her to find her forever home. Please contact Waggy Tails Rescue if you would like to offer Lilly a home:

Lilly is a 4 year old Rottweiler cross.  She is a highly intelligent dog, who needs a special home with an experienced dog owner, ideally someone who has an active outdoor life.
She came to us from the pound and we have had her about a year.  She has been homed twice, and returned twice.  Obviously we do not know what her life was like before she arrived at the pound, but we think maybe she was kept outside, or perhaps put outside at night and maybe sometimes during the day as she can be destructive when left.  Because of this, we are looking for a home where someone is around a lot of the time.
She used to get very worried about getting into a car, but now with patience and perseverance, she travels quite happily.   She was also extremely unsure about walking on a lead, and would suddenly stop and refuse to move, so it took time for her to appreciate that a walk was a “good thing”!
Her training will be ongoing as she knew very little when she came to us and has obviously suffered setbacks being moved around. She is very affectionate and loves a fuss, but gets very excited with toys and balls, so play is limited and training games are best.
She walks with our other dogs at the sanctuary and is fine, but she can react to strange dogs if they push into her, especially if they bark at her.

Lilly settles well at night and has not been upset by fireworks.

She is not suitable to be homed with children.

Help us find Lilly a home!

Do you have a home for Lilly?

We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.

We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.

We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.

If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:

Please note: We only rehome within a 2 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
