Sometimes, Staffie and Stray Rescue offer to take in and rehome dogs from overseas as we believe that the dogs have a better chance of finding a forever home here in the UK. Leila is from Spain.
My Name Is… Leila

Can I be rehomed with children? Over 12 years
I am looking for… A forever home
Leila has been in kennels in Spain for two years now! She has arrived with us here in the UK in the hope to find her happy ever after. She previously arrived with the name Laika, however her foster home have been calling her Laila since arriving in their care.
Laila is a Staffie x Spanish Mastin.
Spanish Mastin’s are known to be an incredibly loyal breed who are bred to guard livestock. They are used to sitting alone on guard and a little stubborn as they are used to making their own decisions!
She is around 80cm in length and weight around 32kg.
Laila is a very shy girl who likes to take her time in getting to know you. She is happiest when she is lounging around on the sofa.
Laila hasn’t lived in a home environment. She can be very nervous and wary of everyday things such as bins and boxes. She doesn’t like being in the kitchen due to the everyday noises we are used to such as the washing machine, kettle, tumble dryer etc. Her foster home have found that she prefers to eat outside and alone at the moment as this is what she is used to.
Laila will be looking for a quiet and patient home who can give her the time to adjust to her new surroundings.
She is the sweetest girl who is looking for some confidence building.
MY TEMPERAMENT WITH OTHER DOGS
Laila is sociable with other dogs and her playful side always comes out when she is in the company of another dog.

Help us find Laila a home!
Do you have a home for Laila?
We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.
We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.
We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.
If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:
Please note: We only rehome within a 2 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
