Sometimes, Staffie and Stray Rescue offer to take in and rehome dogs from overseas as we believe that the dogs have a better chance of finding a forever home here in the UK. Laika is from Spain.
My Name Is… Laika
I Am… 6 Years Old
I Am… Staffie X Spanish Mastin
Can I be rehomed with others dogs? No
Can I be rehomed with cats? No
Can I be rehomed with children? Over 12 years
I am due to arrive in the UK… 9th October
I am looking for… A foster or forever home
Laika has been in kennels in Spain for two years now! She has arrived with us here in the UK in the hope to find her happy ever after,
Laika is a large Staffie x Spanish Mastin.
Spanish Mastin’s are known to be an incredibly loyal breed who are bred to guard livestock. They are used to sitting alone on guard and a little stubborn as they are used to making their own decisions! But Laika is also very affectionate.
She is a large girl, 80cm in length and weighing over 30kg!
Laika is very relaxed in nature and loves to follow her human companions around. She is house trained.
.Laika hasn’t lived in a home environment. She will be looking for a quiet and patient home who can give her the time to adjust to her new surroundings.
MY TEMPERAMENT WITH OTHER DOGS
Laika will walk nicely past other dogs but gets nervous if other dogs get too close to her.

Help us find Laika a home!
Do you have a home for Laika?
We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.
We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.
We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.
If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:
Please note: We only rehome within a 2 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
