Can I be rehomed with children? Yes, Over 12 years
I am looking for… A forever home
Guy’s owner has sadly passed away from the Coronavirus and was then sadly surrendered to the pound. We don’t know much of his history, but he has settled well into one of our loving foster homes.
Guy has been seen by our vet and appears to have no health issues. He is still very much an active boy, especially for his age! He can easily walk 2 miles daily with more left in the tank! He seems to enjoy regular, daily exercise and is very playful around the house and with his toys.
He is strong on the lead and will need to remain on lead on walks due to his reactive behaviour towards other animals. Guy is extremely agile able to jump high and run at speed when on a long lead.
Guy seems to favour food flavoured with Beef and Vegetables and his foster home have recently converted him over to Bakers Purina Beef and Vegetables food to avoid upsetting his tummy. He does not seem to like fish based food. In between his two main meals of the day, his treat has been small pieces of apples without the pips which he loves. He drinks water frequently day and night.
Guy may have been allowed on the furniture including tables in his previous home so the foster home have taken any food off tables especially if he can get on the table via a chair or sofa, he has no fear! He also jumps up at doors and people which has been discouraged through training. He is improving every day with gentle but firm guidance. He seems to like being able to see out of windows which might explain this behaviour. He is obedient and house trained. He does not seem to like his feet touched so new owners must be aware of this.
Guy will come and sleep upstairs on a blanket beside the bed. Sometimes he can be a bit restless and needs some patience to settle him back down again which is no doubt due to his recent change of environment. He will get on the bed easily if allowed but equally will be obedient if told to get off or told not to jump up.
Guy learns new boundaries very quickly and is happy to either curl up and sleep, or go out on a long walk and adventure! He has a great temperament and will make a fantastic companion.
MY TEMPERAMENT WITH OTHER DOGS
Guy is reactive to other dogs and also livestock. He will need to be walked in quieter areas that are less dog populated. He will be kept on lead at all times.

Help us find Guy a home!
Do you have a home for Guy?
We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.
We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.
We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.
If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:
