Dixie is an American Bulldog Cross, she is approximately 2 years of age. She is looking for a dedicated and loving new home.
We have information that Dixie was a puppy farm dog and then turned out as a stray. However, we are not really sure of her background.
She is very nervous of everything when out walking. She seems frightful of road signs, road lights, motorbikes and especially cyclists. She does not like people who run past either.
She has separation anxiety so Dixie would need a home where someone around most of the day.
A secure garden is of most importance for any applicants applying as she is very agile and will jump quite high.
She is good on the lead and wears a harness. She is used to walking around 2 hours every day. She will walk and walk and walk. She has not had any socialisation or interaction with other dogs she does not know how to play properly. Whilst Dixie builds her confidence, we recommend that she stays on the lead at all times at present. She does get on with other dogs that she is familiar with, it just takes time.
She is also very good in the car.
Overall Dixie is a lovely dog, she has just had a bad time of things and is now looking for a happy ever after!
Please contact the rescue if you have a lot of time to give to this girl.
Preferably a pet free home please.
