MY HISTORY
Busby has been a well loved dog. Sadly, due to fighting with the resident dog and after a long period of time trying to work through it, his owners have made the difficult decision to reach out to us to find him a perfect new home.
ABOUT BUSBY
Hi, I’m Busby!
I’m a friendly boy who enjoys meeting new people and making new friends!
I am currently living in an adult only home. I have had positive contact with children but also limited contact with them, because of this adult only homes will be preferred please!
I am crate trained and this works best for me when I am left. It would be ideal to continue this in my new home. I can be left for short, reasonable periods of time with no issues.
At night time, I am used to sleeping in my own bed in the bedroom or maybe even your bed!
I am generally a happy to lucky boy, but I do get nervous of balloons and fireworks!
I travel really well in the car.
I am not particularly into toys, but I LOVE my food and treats! My favourites are whimzees, pigs ears and peanut butter.
I am very gentle in taking treats and I do a little happy dance when I get a tasty treat!
I am fine to be bathed but I am not so keen on the sea! I enjoy the hosepipe to cool off in the summer.
I love cuddles, I am a really affectionate and loving boy.

HEALTH
I am in good general health.
I can be a bit sensitive towards some foods no specific allergy diagnosis
MY TEMPERAMENT WITH OTHER DOGS
I can get quite over-excited and barky at dogs in closer proximity.
I haven’t had much interaction with other dogs but I do have one dog friend who I play with.
I am a big strong boy on lead. Currently walked with a headcollar.
MY IDEAL FAMILY
I would love an adult only home where I can be the centre of attention.
I am looking for a home physically strong enough to handle me on lead.

Do you have a home for Busby?
We are looking for foster families and adoptive families.
We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth foster homes will be expected to drive back to our vets in Bournemouth and to meet with prospective new homes.
We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. (maximum 2hrs, 30 minutes for the perfect applicant willing to travel) Please DO NOT ask if we make exceptions further and look at other rescues covering your area if we do not.
A home check and a vet check is required, with a £275 adoption fee (or £425 for puppy adoption under 1 year), which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.
We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.

Please note: We only rehome within a 2.5 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
