My Name Is… Bruce
I Am… A Staffie Cross
I Am… 6 Years – DOB 22nd September 2014
Can I be rehomed with other dogs? No
Can I be rehomed with cats? No
Can I be rehomed with children? Over 12 years
I am looking for… A forever home
Bruce was found as a stray and was not claimed from the pound. We have no history on him.
Bruce is a small Staffie cross who loves his treats and getting lots of fuss and attention.
When he arrived he had very sore skin and looks like he has been let down and neglected prior to being found. His skin issues are currently being addressed by our vets and is now under control.
Bruce is a pleasure to be at home with, he is so affectionate and enjoys chilling out. In his foster home he is used to sleeping downstairs on his own bed.
Bruce LOVES cuddles! He will sit on your lap or nuzzle against you with an endless supply of love.
He loves to please and has responded well to training after just one week in his foster home. He has recently mastered come, sit and stay (of course with some tasty treats to aid training!) Bruce can get very excitable whilst meeting new people when out on walks, he just loves to say hello!
Bruce isn’t a particularly active dog, but he really does enjoy his walks. He loves to paddle in water and have a good sniff around grassy areas. He has plenty of energy to enjoy long walks. With Bruce, wherever his humans go, he just wants to be with them.
Bruce’s favourite type of play is wriggling around on the carpet, being tickled and made a fuss of. He isn’t into playing fetch but does enjoy a game of tug.
He would thrive in a home where someone is around the majority of the time and a home where he can be walked in less dog populated areas where possible to reduce his anxiety. Bruce has SO much love to give and really deserves a second chance after being unclaimed in the pound.
MY TEMPERAMENT WITH OTHER DOGS
Bruce is reactive towards other dogs. He becomes very anxious and can be quite vocal when passing other dogs. He currently wears a muzzle. We are currently working alongside our behavioural therapist to support Bruce, new owners will also have the opportunity to continue with this going forwward if required.

I am looking for…

- A home where children are ove 12 years
- A home where someone is around a lot of the time
- A home who can confidently cope and manage my reactivity towards other dogs

Help us find Bruce a home!
Do you have a home for Bruce?
We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.
We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.
We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.
If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:
Please note: We only rehome within a 2 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
