Brad is from the pound and we have no known history on him. He was found as a stray and unclaimed.
Brad is a very large and strong dog. It was quite clear when he arrived that this poor boy has never had any training or guidance in his young life so far.
He has been in two foster homes so far which have sadly not worked out! He is a lively and boisterous dog who is looking for an experienced home. He has now been in rescue for 6 months and we would love to see him find his forever home very soon!
Brad is looking for a calm household with clear boundaries and routine, with a slow introduction to the whole house (limiting rooms to begin with) to allow him to get used to living in a home. He loves sniffing and is food oriented, he is easily distracted which can help get his attention when he gets over excited. He doesn’t quite realise his size! Brad’s new family must be patient and willing to spent a lot of time with his training and guidance. Using food puzzles and sniffing/brain games would be really beneficial for Brad.
Brad really attaches to people and loves to follow his care givers around. He would behave best if he is allowed full run of the house. He also loves to share a bed with humans, the close contact is so important for him to help him settle.
He walks well on the lead, and is very good when out on walks however it is important to remember he is a strong boy. He is very full of beans but with time, effort and patience he will be a well rounded dog. Brad loves to play with his ball, and would suit an active home, who will enjoy going for long walks. He just wants to please and love everyone he meets.
We have been working alongside our behavioural therapists with Brad and will continue to work with them and the foster/forever home.
Prospective adopters must be experienced in large breed dogs and must be prepared to meet several times prior to adoption. Despite this, Brad is such a charming boy and any home lucky enough to adopt him will enjoy a life of fun and laughter with our Brad!
Brad is currently in kennels and is in desperate need of a happy ever after!
MY TEMPERAMENT WITH OTHER DOGS
Brad will walk politely past other dogs that are calm. He will need to be kept on lead at all times.

Help us find Brad a home!
Do you have a home for Brad?
We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.
We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £200 adoption fee, which contributes partially to kennel fees, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, flea/worming treatment and other veterinary costs. This adoption fee will contribute to the care of all our dogs.
We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.
If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:
Please note: We only rehome within a 2 hour driving radius of the Bournemouth area and do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 6.
