Can I be rehomed with cats? No

Can I be rehomed with children? Yes – Over 6 years

I am looking for… A forever home

Ruby arrived to us as an unclaimed stray at the pound.  We have no history on her as he was found as a stray.

Ruby was rehomed but due to unforeseen circumstance Ruby has come back to Staffie and Stray Rescue and is again looking for her forever home.

Ruby is a beautiful and loving dog with big brown eyes and big personality. She loves to spend time on the sofa having cuddles and being the centre of attention. Ruby is a large dog, but she still wants to sit on people’s lap and just craves love.
Ruby likes to greet everyone with a present, be it a slipper, a toy or a TV remote – she doesn’t chew the items, they are just a present and she loves to show you!
If you don’t like creepy-crawlies, Ruby will help you out, she enjoys hunting flies, spiders and any other moving creature that crosses her path.
At home, Ruby is an absolutely perfect dog and the only thing she really reacts majorly to is the postman – be prepared for your letters tend to have a couple of teeth marks in!
Ruby can be left at home alone for a reasonable amount of time, although she is used to having someone around most of the time in the home.

Ruby is aggressive towards other dogs and must be muzzled when out and about on walks. Her foster home have worked hard with her, but the forever home must be physically capable to cope with Ruby’s strength on the lead and also must be experienced with difficult dogs as Ruby does have severe dog aggression.

Sadly, as Ruby has come from the pound, we have no idea what has happened to her to cause her such distress.

She will need to be kept on lead at all times and kept away from other dogs who may be off lead.

Help us find Ruby a home!

Do you have a home for Ruby?

We are looking for foster families and adoptive families. We do ask foster homes to be within an hour’s drive of Bournemouth as the dogs in foster use our local vets and foster homes will be required to bring the foster dog back to us for any medical treatments.

We rehome to adoptive families within a 2 hour driving radius of Bournemouth. A home check and a vet check is required, with a £180 adoption fee.

We have a thorough rehoming programme to prepare you and your dog for each other. We also offer help and support for you both in the future. Learn about responsible ownership or contact us if you have any questions.

If you are considering fostering or permanently rehoming a dog, then please print off and complete one of the forms below:
