Success! Betty has a new home

Betty has a new home!

With your help we found Betty a new home.

Thank you for your support!

Betty’s Story

Betty is a 4 year old spayed Staffordshire Bull Terrier bitch, who is looking for an experienced new home. Betty has the biggest heart, and such a gentle soul, she loves  nothing more than to curl up on your lap (or in your bed!). In true Staffie style, she is absolutely brilliant with children, and has lived with children in the past. Please note: The rescue rehomes dogs with children over the age of 6 in the home.

She absolutely loves a game of fetch or tug, she doesn’t snatch her toys at all but can be very vocal as she waits for you to throw the ball as it’s all just far too exciting! She has shown absolutely no food or toy aggression. She is good to bathed, dried, have her anal glands, ears and teeth done. She is good to have her nails clipped, but she has very tickly feet so does snatch her feet away – but she has never grumbled or mouthed whilst having her nails done.

She is also a massive couch potato, and also a sun worshipper, so she can often be found snoring her head off in whatever patch of sun she can find! In the winter, she is the worst at getting up in the mornings, and much prefers to stay snuggled under blankets and duvets than getting up to go out in the cold. It’s almost like having to get a teenager up! She is a massive wimp with the cold, wind and the rain but she has a lovely thick dog coat to wear so she stays snuggly when out in bad weather (although she sulks when you put it on!)

Betty does have some deep routed, fear based aggression issues outside of the home. She must be kept on the lead as she does not enjoy the company of other dogs. The rescue will help new owners with advice and support on how to best deal with this.

With patience and  rehabilitation, she could over come her fear, or at least have it reduced so she can actually enjoy her walks.

She needs to go to a pet free home, who ideally have a lot of time and experience with a dog like Betty. We cannot emphasise just how amazing and loving she is. She has a whole lot of love to give, and whoever rehomes her will have many wonderful years with her.

Please contact the rescue if you are interested in Betty.

Home checks, vet checks and adoption fees apply.
